Many male actors struggle with their weight as they get older, but 60-year-old Alec Baldwin has a few new reasons to stay fit.
First off, he’s dating a 20-something yoga instructor, but more importantly, Baldwin was recently diagnosed by his doctor as pre-diabetic.
In order to avoid developing a full case of diabetes, Baldwin gave up sugar and shed 30 pounds in the process.
Baldwin, most recently heralded as the witty actor playing President Trump on Saturday Night Live, and previously an employee of the famed Studio 54, also once wanted to be president himself.
It looks like he could actually run for oval office with his newfound shape and stamina.
It Takes Gumption to Diss Trump on Saturday Night Live, AND Lose Weight
Baldwin has been looking after his diet, dissing refined sugar at the same time he has been dissing the President, as well as doing Pilates and going to spinning class.
He said on Twitter that giving up sugar “is truly a battle.”
Many people can relate, considering sugar has been likened to cocaine in its ability to form an addiction-cycle of craving in the body.
Fortunately, the less sugar Baldwin eats, the less he’s likely to crave it.
Alec Baldwin’s Workout Routine
Baldwin tries to spin or do some other type of cardio at least a few times a week, but says he wants to add more yoga and stretching to his routine.
Maybe his yoga teacher girlfriend is inspiring to him to get more centered and focused, along with a newfound appreciation for his health.

If Baldwin can lose 30 pounds by ditching sugar and working out, what bad eating habit could you give up to accomplish a similar goal?
Maybe add a little yoga on your “rest” days from the gym? Or how about a little extra time with a super-fit playmate under the sheets? Rumor has it that love-making can burn up to 100 calories per session.
